MPOW Armor Plus Bluetooth Speaker

The Armor Plus Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker from MPOW

Oh wow!  MPOW Armor Plus is the absolute best Bluetooth speaker I have ever heard!

This thing is awesome!  Looks, sound, quality and customer service…all hands down the best.

The first thing you will notice when you open the cardboard shipping box is that this is a hefty speaker.  The size is massive for a portable Bluetooth speaker.  At about 8.5 inches long, 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide it is the largest speaker of its kind that I have ever seen.  The whole thing is wrapped in rubber that provides drop protection.  On the front and back there are iron trimmed speaker grills that are also made of metal.  You wouldn’t want to, but you could throw this thing from a moving vehicle, off a bridge and then run over it with another truck and it would probably still work. (* I didn’t try this, I like it too much!)  I probably am exaggerating a bit on that last idea, but you get the picture.  It is one tough speaker!

Let’s take a look at what’s inside…

Two 8W speakers blast the sound out the front with a passive radiator bass port on the back that thumps the bass out the backside.  The sound is crystal clear at any volume level.  I didn’t notice any distortion when playing my music.  I play a variety of styles from Rap to rock to country it all sounds great!

Strong Bluetooth Connection once you pair this speaker with your phone it remembers the connection and will connect automatically.  The range is outstanding!  I can sit this on my kitchen counter and walk all over my house, even through some walls and rarely lose the connection.

5200mAh Battery 22 hours of music play without skipping music due to low battery.  You can even use the built-in USB port to charge your phone from the speaker battery!

IPX5 Splashproof/shockproof performance

Charge indicator lights You can quickly see the charge of the battery from teh blue LED lights near the charging port.

Play Music and take calls with the built-in microphone

3.5 mm audio cable and Micro USB cable You can use the included audio cable to play music from non-Bluetooth devices.  Charge your speaker with the included micro USB cable.

Charging Port, phone charging port and Audio cable port

Wrist rope and carrying bag These can be used to carry your speaker and protect it when it is not in use.

Two EQ Modes Switch between EQ modes for indoor and outdoor listening ( I haven’t been able to tell much of a difference in the sound from these two modes, but it has been snowing and very cold here, so I haven’t used it outside yet.  I look forward to testing this feature out in three weeks on the beaches of Florida.

What about the controls?  Well, what about them?

7 control buttons

7 buttons are displayed on the top of the speaker…Power, Track back, Volume Down, Play/Pause, Volume up, Track up and the call/EQ mode button.

One thing I really like about this speaker is the control buttons.  Most of these Bluetooth speakers have four buttons.  The plus and minus button serve to change volume and advance tracks.  The Armor Plus has 7 buttons!  I love the dedicated volume buttons and track advance buttons.  You no longer have to worry about accidentally passing up a favorite song because you were trying to turn up the volume.

This thing is flat out awesome.  I doubt anyone who is serious about their music would be disappointed by this speaker.  I highly recommend it and would say it is the best large format speaker I have ever seen.

I received this speaker at a discount for my honest review and I am so very glad I did.

FYI…customer service is amazing with this company as well.  They truly want their customers to be happy and will go to great lengths to ensure that the customer is satisfied!

AYL Bluetooth Soundfit Speaker

I have had experiences with many different brands and styles of Bluetooth speakers and I will tell you that this is one of my absolute favorites!  This feels like a quality speaker even before you take it out of the box!  Once out you will notice some features quickly.  Rubberized cushioning surrounds the edges.  I feel like I could drop this many times and it would still come up playing..of course, I will try not to drop it, but if I did….I’m just saying.  To help ensure you don’t drop it there is an attached writs strap screwed onto the speaker.

Four buttons on the top of the speaker give access to power, track skip forward and back, volume up, play/pause and phone functions to answer and end a call.  There is a microphone built in so you could use this to take a call by the pool without getting your phone close to the water…I know, right!  You are already as in love with the thing as much as I am and I haven’t even began telling you about how great it sounds!

This speaker pairs quickly and always pairs as soon as I turn it on (as long as my phone is within range).  The sound on this speaker is amazing!  Rich deep bass, nice bright highs (not tinny or muffled as I have found on other Bluetooth speakers).  The buttons respond nicely and do a great job controlling the volume as well as the track up and down.  One interesting feature is the screw hole at the bottom…you could mount this on a small tripod or speaker stand to get the sound elevated on a better listening level.  That’s a pretty cool feature I’ve not seen on one of these Bluetooth speakers before.

I turn this on at night when I fall asleep with Pandora running on a 60 minute timer.  I turn it off in the morning, so basically it plays sound for an hour and then sits on standby for about 4 more hours.  The speaker stays charged for about 4 nights of this type of use with intermittent use during the evening before bed.  Charge it up during the 5th day while I am at work and I am good to go for about another 4-5 nights!  It will definitely be heading to Florida in a few weeks on Spring Break.  I can’t wait to listen to it while I sit at the beach drinking Miller Lite in the sunshine!  And if it ends up raining…I’ll still drink my Miller Light and sit at the beach because it has a water resistance rating of IPX5.  It is safe from multi directional water drops and sprays.  I will not submerge it in the ocean.

PROS (in order of awesomeness):

  • SOUND–it is the best sounding speaker I have (and I have some that cost more and some that cost less)

  • I received the light blue one
  • when you connect or turn the speaker on there is a loud connection tone that is not affected by the volume level.  When I connect at night the sound is quite loud.  This is not a feature I dislike, but I wish the volume of the connection sound was controlled by the volume setting of the speaker.

Seriously, that is the only thing I can find negative about this speaker.  I love it and I’m sure you will, too.

Liansing Monopod Bluetooth Selfie Stick

Selfie sticks are all over the place!  With Spring Break coming up I am sure they will be all over the beach like they were last year.  They offer a unique view and an interesting way for you to document your life.

Liansing has created a good one.  The selfie stick is about three feet long when fully extended and about 10 inches when the telescoping pole is not extended.  This one is bluetooth enabled, so no wires are needed once you’ve charged it completely for about 30 minutes.  It has a three day standby period and will last a long time depending upon how many pictures you snap with it.  The phone holder is solid and doesn’t feel like the phone will slip out easily.  There is a wrist strap, charging cable and carrying bag included.

TNT Interactive T-1200 Xbox Play and Charge Controller Battery with charging cable

My kids love to play the XBOX One.  Hell, I love to play the XBOX One.  The biggest problem is having batteries on hand when needed.  Nothing is more frustrating than getting the message that your batteries are low when you are in the middle of the game.  The T-1200 Controller Core play and charge system eliminates this problem.

The set comes with a battery pack that fits in the controller and uses the stock battery cover.  Just plug the supplied USB cable into the controller and the front of your xBOX One and you have rechargable batteries that allow you to play while you charge!

The battery pack has a 1200 mAh capacity, so you can play on and on with a single charge.  And if the charge becomes low…just plug it in and keep on playing!

I like this better than some of the other rechargable options I have had in the past because it uses the battery compartment cover that came with the controller, so no more lost compartment lids!  We have taken this through several charge cycles and we have had no problems so far.

Clicks Outdoor TV Cover

Outdoor TV’s are great!  I can’t think of a better place to watch the big game or a new movie than the comfort of your back patio with a nice cold drink in hand!  Then the rain comes.  Your investment can be ruined by humidity, rain, sun and sand.  That’s where the Clicks Outdoor TV Cover comes to save the day!

The cover is black in color and is made of heavy duty material like a boat cover.

  • FITS FLAT SCREEN TV’s AND DISPLAYS (42″x 26.5″x 4.5″)

The seams are all double stitched to last and protect!  The cover will work perfectly for single and double mounts.  Included remote control storage pocket with velcro flap will also protect your remote and keep it handy when needed.

This cover is perfect for your deck, poolside, patio or pole barn and will protect your investment from the elements!

Bright Outdoors Solar Camping Light

I remember camping as a child.  Pack the tent, the cooler full of sandwiches, the sleeping bags and that old Coleman fuel lantern.  Remember it?  A glass shield?? Perfect for packing in a full trunk and then walking through the woods with it…that never got broken.  and if you made it to the campsite with the glass intact, you still had the lantern mantles to deal with.  They were little mesh bags that you had to burn first and basically make them ash that would also break off leaving you with no light.

Fast forward to today and you have much easier tools for “roughing it” outdoors.  The Bright Outdoors solar powered camping lantern is one of these new devices.

This lantern can be charged via a USB cable or by the free solar energy provided by the sun.  This lantern is also feature packed with some really cool functions!

  • Use it as a flashlight.
  • Two brightness modes.
  • Lantern mode
  • Emergency phone charger via the USB outlet
  • Emergency flashing light mode

On a full charge this lantern will run for 5 hours on high or 10 hours on low.  Using USB power the light will charge fully in 4-6 hours.  From the discharged state the light will run for 15-30 minutes on an hour charge from the sun.  This is perfect in a pinch.

The collapsible design makes it easy to store and easy to switch from flashlight mode to lantern mode quickly.  It also comes with a hanging hook.

This will be a permanent fixture in my camping supply box.  I will also be buying one for each of our cars to have available in an emergency.

I highly recommend you get one.  I received a discount on this light to provide my honest review and evaluation, but you can get one, too by following the link below.

Gurin Compact Dehumidifier

The Gurin Compact Dehumidifier is a small wonder.  I am impressed with this little unit. It has a small holding tank for collection of water from the air.  The tank holds 16 ounces of water and automatically shuts the unit down when it is full.  The collection chamber slides out easily and with the pull of a rubber plug it empties quickly and is ready for more.  Perhaps the most impressive thing is the whisper quiet operation.  With little more than the sound of a computer fan you can protect a small space from the damage of excess humidity in the air.

Absent from this unit are some features you would find on larger dehumidifiers…a setting switch to adjust how much moisture is allowed in the air, a drain hose for continuous operation, and sort of audible alarm for a full tank (although there is a light to indicate when the unit is full).

This unit is perfect for a small closet, kitchen, RV, small office, etc.  Being that it is in the middle of winter and my house is usually dry in the winter I was not able to pull much water from the air, I did put it in the bathroom during my wife’s 20 minute hot showers and was able to verify that it doers in fact work.

I am extremely happy with this small dehumidifier and will certainly use it in the corner of our basement in the summer months when the humidity increases in our area.

I received this unit at a discount in exchange for my honest evaluation and review.  IT retails for $44.95 on Amazon and you can pick one up by clicking the link below.

Wanderlust QY8 Bluetooth Headset

I have collected quite a few Earbud sets, some wired and some bluetooth, but this is the first set of this kind…earbuds with a short wire and no headband.

The Wanderlust QY8 Bluetooth headset came packaged in a small brown box with no markings other than a barcode sticker with the product name.  Inside the box were:

  • The headphones
  • a charging cable
  • replacement rubber buds (2 sizes)
  • replacement ear stays
  • small instruction card (fairly well written English)

I was impressed with how the earbuds fit in my ears.  I was worried at first as the earbuds are attached to rather large bases, but the ear stays help to hold it comfortably, but firmly in your ear.  They paired quickly with my iPhone 5s.  The sound from the earbuds is not the best.  The sound is muffled and suffers from a lack of bass.  The vocals are a bit muddy.  I would not use these for everyday listening if sound quality is what you are after.  They are perfect for a run.  The sound would be better than the street sounds.

They are Bluetooth V 4.1 and can place, receive, start and end calls.  The microphone is found on the right earbud with the control button.  For a full list of features, see below.

I received this set at a discount for my honest review and evaluation.

Blitzwolf Double Sided USB-C Cable

Blitzwolf makes great cables.  You may remember a review I did a while back of the Blitzwolf Car Charger… Well, Blitzwolf is at it again and this time it is for more than your car!  Yes, with a charger plugged into your cigarette lighter you could charge your new USB-C enabled phone with this, but it can do so much more!

Features of this cable:

  • Double sided male USB 3.1 Type C reversible plug
  • data sync speeds up to 5GBps
  • Nickel plated antioxidant standard USB plug and USB-C plug
  • Plexible PVC sheath with 24/30 AWG power and data wire cores
  • Support for 5V/9V/12V fast charging up to 3A.

You can see Blitzwolf did not skip anything in the design and manufacture of this plug.

If you have a USB-C enabled phone or new Macbook or Chromebook, don’t hesitate in getting the Blitzwolf Type C PVC cable.  This item was sent at a discount for my honest evaluation, but you can get yours by clicking the link below.

Night Provision LED Bike Tail Light

A few days ago I posted a review of the Night ProVision front headlight for your bike and now here is the tail light counterpart.  The tail light is made exactly the same as the front headlight, but with one exception.  The tail light has red LED lights obviously.

The tail light comes with a mounting bracket that consists of a rubber strap that goes around the seat receiver and clips on like a belt.  It is adjustable so it can fit a variety of sizes.  The light then clips into this rubber strap and can be installed horizontally or vertically depending upon your preference.

There is included in the box:

  • The light (30 LEDS @ 120 Lumens on Max setting)
  • rubber mounting strap
  • micro USB cable for charging
  • instruction sheet
  • a rubber pad with self adhesive strip

The light has three intensity levels that can be adjusted with the click of a button and then with a press and hold of the button, the light will turn off.  Just like the headlight, the tail light is very bright and is a great addition for night time riding.  The light has a a life of 6 hours and 20 minutes on maximum brightness before it will need to be charged again, so it will last a long time on one charge.

These are great products based on the life of the battery between charges and the ease of tool-free installation.

All the ports (charging and on/off button) are sealed so the lamp is waterproof and shock resistant.
